Chaotic Inflation - Pour and Paint

Chaotic Inflation acrylic on canvas 12 "x12 "

This was our last experiment before the "stay at home" started. It may look a bit chaotic but it was a combination of directed flow and energetic deliberate painting.

Cannon selected the colors for this canvas and I layered the colors in a small container. I flipped the container onto the middle of the canvas. Cannon lifter the container up off of the canvas and we started watching the "flow".  then Cannon independently tilted the canvas from one direction to another.

He deliberately left parts of the canvas empty so that he could paint into it at our next session.

The "flow" paint took several days to dry and was ready for the brush when we got together the following week. Using the same color palette and a large easel brush,  Cannon loaded his brush and used his energetic movements to merge his brushwork into the flow work.
